Queen of Tarts Observatory

 Queen of Tarts - Observatory

On Monday, K and I headed to Queen of Tarts in Observatory for some confectionary goodness. Queen of Tarts is situated in a beautiful old building on Lower Main Road in Observatory. Inside, the walls are filled with interesting little bits and pieces, very pretty. There's an inside seating area and a courtyard outside, behind the kitchen, which is so cute. We tried to sit outside but it was a bit too cold for us. The kitchen is this tiny little area; we couldn't believe they make all the deliciousness in there! Here are some of the photos we took, how pretty is this place?

We arrived at about 11am to find the breakfast menu far too irresistable, so we had to try that too! I tried to french toast with balsamic vinegar, pan-fried tomatos and camebert. It was so deliciously decadent. K had the balsamic onion and olive tart, which comes with a green salad. To die for!

The amazing French Toast. How good?
 And K's breakfast/lunch. Savoury Tart - yummy!

Of course we also had to order some dessert, because that's why we were there. We were so full that we ordered some to eat at home later while studying. We got two cupcakes, one vanilla and one chocolate, at only R14.50 each. Pretty good. We also got an almond and pear tart, for R24. Must say, we managed to both have breakfast, drinks and order these desserts for take-away all for under R200!
The Almond and Pear Tart - tasted even better than it looks :)
Delicious Vanilla Cupcake (above) and Chocolate Cupcake (below)

Where should we go next? Give us some suggestions! Until next time; send us some photos of the delicious things you're eating :)
